Tall Timber Tales Photos from Art Marder Shots from the Late 1950s-Early 60s April 14, 2009 | |||||||
Arthur Marder is one of the sons of Joe and Molly Marder, owners of the Tall Timber bungalow colony summer resort. Originally, Joe and Molly owned Tall Timber in the early 40s. The sold it and moved to NYC until 1950 when they bought Tall Timbers again, after it was built into a bungalow colony. A few years later, they bought the small section of property across the road. The upper part of Tall Timbers was formerly Evergreen Bungalow Colony, which they bought around 1958. Arthur was a camper there for many years, until he was old enough to be a counselor. He left the area about 1963 when he moved to California where his brother Raphy lived. Upon his return, Arthur was drafted into the army.
Here are some images Art saved from that period.
