An Indispensable Guide for Gay & Lesbian Couples
A Cornucopia of Information for Same-sex Couples
by Demian
© January 2003, Demian

A rich array of information and advice for same-sex partners. This 64-page booklet answers the most common among hundreds of questions addressed to the Partners Task Force since it was founded in 1986.

Its chapters are devoted to validation, family life, getting support, legal precautions, marriage, sex and domestic partnership. Sprinkled throughout are powerful quotations and images that affirm same-sex partners.

Dedicated to the proposition that all families are created equal.

The Indispensable Guide dispels myths — such as gay relationships being short-lived — with data from Partners National Survey of Lesbian & Gay Couples. It also contains annotated lists of resources for couples, including political and social organizations, employers providing domestic partner benefits, and over 70 books, tapes and films.

Written in 1993 by Demian and Steve Bryant, the jam-packed guide has become popular among same-sex couples, libraries, schools, counselors, parents of gay and lesbian children, and religious leaders who use it to prepare couples soon to undergo commitment ceremonies.
